Shani Higgins
Chief Executive Officer
Shani joined Technorati in 2007 to lead strategy and day to day operations for the company’s advertising sales, business development and the Technorati Media advertising network. In 2008 the company launched an ad network giving a marketing voice to the independent web and offering a way for top brands to tap into their influence in meaningful ways. In 2010 the company turned profitable and in 2011 Shani took over as CEO. Under her leadership, Technorati Media has become an integrated online media company with an advertising network, a social rich media technology platform, and three owned web properties including the internet’s largest blog directory. Today Technorati Media represents over 1,300 independent sites, blogs, and social networks boasting an audience of 129 million US unique visitors a month. Technorati Media is the 49th largest media property in the US, the 8th largest social media property and the 3rd largest blog property. Prior to joining Technorati, Shani held senior management roles at Infoseek/GO/Disney, Ziff Davis, Benedek Investment Group, and Tacit Software. She earned her B.A. in Communication and Art History from Rutgers University where she also ran the university newspaper, The Daily Targum.
Abderrezak Kamel
Chief Technology Officer
Abderrezak Kamel (fondly referred to as “AK”) is responsible for spearheading Technorati Media’s Social Rich Media advertising products, including Conversational Ads that have already been run by 40+ top brand advertisers, Technorati Media’s audience targeting technology, and the Technorati Media Exchange. AK brings almost two decades of experience in Online Advertising, Information Retrieval, and Natural Language Processing. For the past 3 years he directed the development and enhancement of LucidMedia’s DSP, contextual analysis and RTB offerings. Prior to his position at LucidMedia, AK held integral roles at Autonomy and Verity. AK was a Computational Semiotics PhD student at Leonardo da Vinci University, Paris, France and earned his MS in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Montpellier, France.
Robin Nebel
Chief Financial Officer
Robin oversees Technorati Media’s finance and accounting, ad operations, publisher development, human resources and administration. Robin has 25 years of experience as CFO, COO and President of high tech start-ups. Prior to joining Technorati Media, Robin held management roles at InStore Broadcasting Network, Ellie Mae, Ensenda and 800-Software. Robin has MBA and BS degrees from The University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business.
Rohan Chandran
Sr. Vice President of Product
Rohan Chandran guides Technorati Media’s product vision and strategy, from innovating new solutions to bolstering the current line of offerings. Rohan brings with him experience in growing startups as well as revitalizing established companies. His range includes being an advertising product lead for Yahoo! to being CEO for video content startup Collient. Rohan has also led engineering or product teams at Infonox and Experian Interactive. Most recently, he was at YP where he led strategy and development for consumer products. Rohan holds undergraduate degrees in economics and computer science as well as a master’s degree in computer science from Stanford University, where as a freshman he was co-founder of CricInfo, a leading sports site that was eventually acquired by ESPN.
Karin Marke
Vice President of West Coast Sales
Karin Marke has more than 20 years of Sales Management experience across media, technology and retail industries and a track record of building first class media sales organizations while delivering record revenue growth. Most recently Karin was Vice President of Sales for lifestyle hub Glam Media. Prior to that she was Vice President of Sales for MySpace where she was the 3rd member to join the sales organization, and was instrumental in building the business to record revenue growth and profit levels. Prior to her role at MySpace, Karin held key sales and sales management positions at FastChannel Network and Terra Lycos. Early in her career, Karin gained experience at Hearst Magazines in the Sales department for Cosmopolitan, House Beautiful, Harper’s Bazaar, Connoisseur and Esquire Magazines. Karin graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a B.A. in Political Science.
Seth Ingram
Vice President of East Coast Sales
Seth plays a key leadership role in growing Technorati Media’s sales footprint on the East Coast. He works with the Executive team to increase revenue and identify new market opportunities to support the company’s continued growth as a top tier social ad network serving Fortune 500 clientele. Seth is based out of Technorati Media’s New York office. Seth brings over 13 years of media experience. His diversified background consists of both domestic and international experience building companies from the ground up and determining strategic direction across sales, operations, marketing and product teams. Prior to joining Technorati Media, he co-founded MediaBrix and served as the SVP of Sales. He designed the company’s sales strategy and spearheaded the formation of sales, operations, product and support teams. Before his role at MediaBrix, he spent nearly 10 years at UGO Entertainment, Inc., where he held several VP level roles including VP of East Coast Sales and VP of Intentional Sales. Seth earned his B.A. in English Literature at Tufts University.
Anthony (Tony) Baker
Vice President of Marketing
Tony heads all aspects of Technorati Media’s marketing activities as well as plays a key role in guiding custom client solutions. After receiving his BA in Marketing from Western Michigan University, Tony began a successful career in digital marketing by co-founding a digital agency focused on the SMB space. From there, Tony became Sr. Director of Marketing at Monster Worldwide’s Military.com, VP of Marketing, Education at Nextag, and then lead one of Shutterfly’s key marketing channels as Sr. Director CRM. Now, with nearly 20 years of leadership experience in digital marketing, he provides Technorati Media with a portfolio of marketing experience and innovation to draw upon on a daily basis.
TJ Stalzer
Associate Vice President of Ad Operations
TJ Stalzer joined Technorati Media as AVP of Ad Operations, from Monster Worldwide. During his tenure at Monster Worldwide, TJ served as Sr. Director, Lead Generation Operations and Director, Advertising Operations, Europe, and Director of Product Management. Previously, he was Director of Advertising Operations for Kontera.com where he developed and oversaw execution of all processes for the effective management of online advertising campaigns and support of the publisher network. Stalzer has also held operations and HR roles with Bikesmart.com and Organiz.com. Stalzer has a BA in Industrial Organizational Psychology from San Francisco State University.
