Product Manager – Ad Products

Technorati Media has a new opportunity for someone to drive product strategy.  We are looking for a person that is passionate about defining and evolving our next generation of ad products.  This individual will partner with executives and other teams to create and execute our product vision and strategy.  Since this is a high profile role both internally and externally, this position requires demonstrated creativity and product development success.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Interpret the company’s vision and define the product strategy and roadmap keeping in mind the user needs and the competitive landscape
  • Drive evolution of our ad products beyond revenue insights
  • Champion our ad products improvements to provide even more value to our clients
  • Own all documentation including requirements definitions and roadmap
  • Collaborate with strategic partners to ensure alignment
  • Work with the technology team to define product milestones and manage the development of detailed specifications for each of the product releases
  • Manage the cross-functional communication and processes necessary to release a product to market
  • Serve as the internal and external evangelist for the product
  • Explore and analyze potential partner relationships with the business development team for the product
  • Work with marketing to define the go-to-market strategy to understand product positioning, key benefits, etc.
  • Define requirements including use cases, user stories/flows as well as engineering needs

REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience in a high growth start-up
  • Strong project/people management and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle multiple parallel projects and deliver exceptional results; experience with Basecamp a plus
  • Custom ad production experience desired
  • Experience in design, marketing, business management or equivalent a plus
  • Online community/social media/blogger experience in production role  a plus
  • Understanding of the advertising creative process with an interest in rich media

Platform Operations Manager -SF

The Role:

Platform Analytics is the heart of our network, monitoring key data points across the platform and offering guidance on go forward strategy.  This role touches every department across the organization and offers the unique opportunity to set the groundwork for the future of the business.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Perform data modeling, data analysis, and development of key performance indicators as well as identifying future opportunities for both our Publisher and Advertiser businesses.
  • Identify, develop and present analytical insights in the form of reports and dashboards.
  • Monitor network health across all applicable platforms.
  • Development of ad-hoc and recurring reports and analytical projects relating to network performance

Requirements

  • Experience in online media required with  1-2 years in an advertising operations or analyst role.
  • Strong analytical foundation (never met a spreadsheet you didn’t like)
  • Must see the story behind the numbers and be able to present to key stakeholders
  • Hands on experience with an ad server a plus, AppNexus experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to prioritize and switch gears at a moments notice

    Software Engineer – Java/Hadoop

    Technorati Media is seeking a strong Engineer with in-depth experience designing/building/managing large scale analytics infrastructure/platform using Java and Hadoop technology.

    • Strong development experience in Java and Linux environment, Scripting languages a plus.

    Website & Editorial Director

    Technorati Media is looking for a creative and smart individual to partner with our teams in developing a vision for our owned and operated sites, technorati.com and blogcritics.org, as well as lead the sites in editorial direction. This position reports to the VP of Marketing.

    Responsibilities

    • Work with product and technology teams to create website specs and feature sets
    • Create BRDs and work with product team to create PRDs
    • Interface with Technorati editors and lead the editorial direction of Technorati’s own and operated sites
    • Decide on feature content for each site
    • Manage support of sites making sure that proper protocol is followed and that support is up to Technorati’s standards and policies
    • Achieve and own site metrics
    • Interact regularly with people in the social space (Facebook, Twitter, etc)

    Requirements

    • Proven experience running a website
    • Experience writing BRDs and PRDs
    • Editorial experience
    • Understanding of SEO
    • A strong knowledge of social media from a business and marketing perspective
    • Creative ideas person with the ability to communicate thoughts to everyone at all levels and functions

    Account Executive – NY and Chicago

    We’re looking for a dynamic individual who’ll be responsible for the qualification, sales and growth of advertising partner relationships in the New York and Eastern region.  The successful candidate will have a robust existing network of client/agency relationships and a proven track record building and delivering solid marketing solutions for their clients in an effective and scalable way.   This person will have an understanding of the network space and experience selling standard and custom executions for top brand clients and agencies.  A passion for social media is a plus!

    Responsibilities:

    • Consistently meet and exceed sales goals.
    • Attend regular face-to-face client visits to build and maintain deep level partnerships and understanding of clients needs
    • Generate and adapt presentations and other materials needed for partner meetings/ demonstrations/pitches.
    • Manage day-to-day client relationships to meet short-term deliverables and long-term campaign goals.
    • Communicate regularly with partners regarding product strategy, competitive intelligence analysis and other campaign support items.
    • Coordinate and participate in key internal and external partner related meetings and effectively communicate internally territory updates, successes, missteps, opportunities, etc.
    • Work with Sales and Marketing to find additional ways to maximize the ROI of these partnerships and to bolster Technorati brand presence in the East Region.
